SharePoint Implementation

Working with IT Staff and and department heads, developed and implemented a company wide Intranet using Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services.  Site has grown over time and continued to work with staff to assist and oversee the development and implementation of additional team sites.

Customer Service Evaluation and review

Contracted by DAFO management to evaluate existing customer service functions and determine what changes were required to further improve DAFO's customer support services to their customers and clients.

Based on findings recommended better customer and client contact information tracking to assist Customer Services and Technical Support staff in better supporting and responding to customer request.

Customer Relationship Management

Based on finding from Customer Service Evaluation assisted IT staff in the review and selection of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to support the

Management Support Service

    Provide on-going Information Management consulting and support services, including assisting System Manager (Finance Director) in the establishment of Information Steering Committee.  assisting individual departments in the selection and implementation of applications.  Overseeing and monitoring the operations of the City's information network.  Interfacing with application vendors on technical issues and assisting staff in the utilization of new technology as needed.

    Perform Need Analysis

    Performed in-depth needs analysis of all city departments and based on findings prepared and presented long term information plan and strategies.  Information plan included replacement and upgrade of all workstations, servers and WAN and LAN topologies to meet Y2K requirements, upgrade or replacement of all core business systems and recommendations on long term IS management.

      Information Systems upgrade implementation Project

    • As project manager, coordinated the preparation, selection and implementation of new hardware and core business systems.  Task included the preparation and publication of Request for Proposals for replace of existing workstations, servers and LAN and WAN topologies, replacement of major financial systems, upgrade of all Public Works maintenance management systems and acquisition of new Building Permit management system and upgrade or replacement of public safety systems.

      Bellingham Cold Storage

      Perform Work Flow Analysis of Warehousing Operation

      Performed in-depth work flow analysis to determine factors causing delays in inventory information and processing. Based on review implemented operational changes and implementation of order processing and inventory control system.

      Design, construct and implement Order Processing and Inventory Control System (OPTICS) for Public Warehousing Operation

      Designed, constructed and Implemented a Cold Storage Order and Inventory Processing system. (OPTICS Warehouse System)

      Design and implement Local Area Network for administrative offices

      As project manager implemented Local Area Network (Banyan VINES) and migrated the LAN from DOS to Windows environment including integration with UNIX/PICK Mini/Mainframe running OPTICS Warehouse System via TCP/IP

      Network administration for Banyan VINES Local Area Network

      As system administrator, responsible for system upgrades, network tuning, application implementation and upgrades.

      BELLINGHAM HOUSING AUTHORITY

      Selection and implement Public Housing System for Housing Authority

      Prepared Request For Proposal for acquisition of Housing programs system, based on response assisted Housing Authority management in the selection of vendor, and implementation of systems.

      Manage re-location project for Housing Authority Systems

      Provided site planning and installation management for re-location of Housing Authority systems.

      Prepare RFP and select vendor for installation of Local Area Network

      Provided consulting support in the selection of vendors for implementation of Local Area Network system.

      CITY OF BELLINGHAM

      Administrative Services Department

      Review and prepare reorganization of City Information Technology Division

      Analysis and reorganization of Information Services Division, including implementation of personal changes, presentation of plan to City Council and hiring of new IS Manager.

      Search, selection and retention of Information Technology Manager

      Assisted with the hiring of replacement IS Manager when current manager left at end of contract.

      Parking Systems Division

      Prepare 25 years Capital Budget Business Plan for City of Bellingham Parking Systems Division

      Prepared 25 year Business Plan for capital projects. Plan included financial model for preparing and printing of different scenarios based on changing parking rates and occupancy. In addition, prepared Business Plan document for presentation to Bellingham Parking Commission and City Council.

      Public Works Department

      Review existing inventory system and prepare RFP for replacement system

      Public Works, review of materials inventory system requirements and preparation of Request for Proposal.

      Police Department

      Review police records and dispatch operations and prepare conceptual design

      Police Systems, in depth review of Emergency Services (911) and police records. Based on review prepared conceptual design for City 911 systems.

      CONSUMERS CHOICE, INC.

      As contracted information systems consultant for Consumers Choice, Inc. from 1988 through 1993 was responsible for the development and implementation of the following projects:

      Design and implement Bonus Shopper system data base

      Assisted management develop a data base using FoxBASE Pro to capture, track and report on shopper activity. This data base

      Selection and implementation of Corporate Accounting System

      Assisted Corporate management in the selection and installation of corporate Minicomputer (UNIX/Informix) based accounting package.

      Select and implement Video Management system

      Assisted store and corporate management in the selection, implementation and management of store based Video Management system. In addition, trained store personnel in the use and maintenance of video system.

      As interim MIS Manager, March 1993 to January 1994, performed the following:

      Implementation and upgrade of Local Area Network

      nstalled, then upgraded corporate Local Area Network from LANtastic to Novel 3.11.

      Implementation of TCP/IP between Corporate LAN and UNIX Systems

      Implemented TCP/IP and network communications between LAN and corporate UNIX system. System implementation also included attaching and implementing Macintosh workstations and print serving for Macintosh environment.

      Upgrade of Corporate UNIX system

      Working with corporate management, hardware and software vendors coordinated the implementation and conversion of corporate accounting systems from an Intel server running SCO UNIX to an NCR 3450 running AT&T UNIX.

      SHANNON POINT SEAFOOD

      Selection and implementation of replacement Local Area Network lost in fire

      Project Manager for replacement and upgrade of entire Local Area Network and accounting systems lost in plant fire.

      Re-location of corporate system to new facility

      Re-located company systems to new facility including coordination of vendors for cabling. De-installed and re-installed system and implemented additional features required due to relocation.
